Page protectorA plastic, acid-free sheet used to slip over a finished album page.
 
pHA measurement that indicates the degree of acidity or alkalinity of a material. On a scale from 0-14, pH 7.0 is neutral, above 7.0 is alkaline (acid-free or base), and below 7.0 is acidic. The scale is a logarithmic progression, meaning 6.0 is 10 times or more acidic than 7.0. pH can only be measured on water-soluble materials.
 
PolyproTransparent, stable plastic which is safe for storing photographs and other memories.
 
PolystyreneTransparent, stable plastic whic is safe for storing photographs and other memories.
 
PreservationIn framing, it is the careful maintenance and protection of works of art, using materials and procedures that will have no adverse effects on a piece of artwork and will protect the artwork from external damage.
