How to preserve and protect your photos

Thousands of photographs are frequently lost and damaged. It is important to preserve and protect the images you value.

The physical ennemies of photographs include direct sunlight, insects, adhesives and compounds that degrade over time and trigger fading, and humidity that can encourage mould growth.

We advise against photographs stored in basements, attics and garage. Storage materials should therefore be specifically designed for long-term stability (called "archival products").

Use acid-free photo albums, Adhesive corners, glue, Embellishments and captionable bubbles and keep your photographs away from bright light, widely fluctuating humidity and extreme temperatures.
